Owned by Josh White, Northwoods Apiaries is a family-owned apiary in the heart of the North East Kingdom of Vermont, focusing on sustainable and ethical beekeeping practices. They are known for harvesting raw honey and beeswax from their Vermont beehives, particularly in Grand Isle and Franklin counties, without the use of pesticides. Their mission involves both providing high-quality honeybee products and contributing to the preservation of the natural environment.
Unlike refined white sugar, honey contains small amounts of vitamins and minerals, and can vary significantly in flavor and color depending on what types of flowers the bees are pollinating. For example, the woody, earthy flavor and deep brown color of Northwood's buckwheat honey is much different than the malty flavor and moody color of the honeycomb mostly made by knotweed.
