I'm living for the reactions
Hey Friends,
We’re on day 11,000 out of 17 of the Big E. It’s the 4th largest fair in the US and selling here is a MARATHON.
The focus of our booth is Hot Ones, because you’ve got to draw folks’ eyes in with something. But it’s amazing to see how many people are drawn to the caramel.
We’re leading with Salted Bourbon and folks just LIGHT UP when they taste it. In fact, as I write this, I just overheard a guy say, “Oh my god, that should be illegal!”

I really love that our caramel is like nothing else. I mean, obviously, it’s like cajeta, the goat’s milk caramel that’s wildly popular in Mexico. But there are only a handful of cajeta makers in the US, and none of them are making flavors like ours.
So we can say that Food & Wine says we make the best hot sauces in the country, but we also get to say that we make the only Vermont Maple Goat’s Milk Caramel.
And the reactions here have been spectacular.
“SHUT UP!” (very loudly - the hall quieted)
"What, what, what???"
“Babe, we need that!”
When you’re saying the same words over and over and over at an event, it’s glorious to watch people revel in the caramel. They immediately start imagining Vanilla Bean on their apples or Salted Bourbon in their coffee.
