Do you want to taste the first hot sauce that we ever sold?
14 years ago I decided to give hot sauces a whirl
Folks often ask me, "How did you start making hot sauces?" Well, it all started with this sauce! Jalapeno Fennel Hot Sauce was the very first hot sauce that I ever sold at the farmers market - just over 14 years ago. I thought that it would be fun to recreate and boy, it seems like 14 years ago, I was onto something! It's a tasty, nourishing sauce that is definitely worth bringing back. But score it while you can. While we made more than the original batch of 15, these micros never stick around for long.
We rounded out this month's drop with two more sauces that are nothing to shrug at.
Blueberry Thai Basil: Unconventional food combinations often lead to some of the tastiest flavors. We buddied up Thai basil and fruity fresh blueberries with a light kiss of honey to make them shine. Ghost peppers still punch through this fabulously fiery sauce. It pairs mysteriously well with spring rolls, goat cheese, or a big slice of heirloom tomato.
Chipotle Squash: Maple wood smoked chipotles, savory tomatoes, and sweet roasted butternut squash knit together a warm and snug blanket of flavor. Not too hot, not too smokey, just cozy. Concocted for burgers, grilled carrots, or a bean chili, this sauce is a comforting hug for any meal.
Jalapeno Fennel: We’ve “fenneled” our knowledge and experience from the past 14 years of sauce making into a new and improved version of our very first hot sauce, “Green Kick”, debuted at the farmers market in 2011! This sauce is great for swordfish, mushrooms, or a hefty Italian sub.
And back due to popular demand, we've combined all three into a convenient August Micro Dose Bundle. You can have your meal bases covered with this set.
