If you are reading this on Christmas Eve, we want to say this first and clearly.
You’re doing great.
Really.
If the cookies are a little over baked, if one gift is still in a bag, if you meant to do one more thing and simply did not, that is all allowed. The holidays are not a performance. They are a collection of moments, all imperfectly human.
If you shopped small this year, even once, thank you. That choice matters more than you probably realize. It keeps places like ours going. It keeps interesting food on shelves. It keeps people employed and communities stitched together in quiet, meaningful ways.
If you are still thinking about a gift, gift cards are real gifts. They say I know you well enough to let you choose. They say I want to support something you love. They say I ran out of time but not out of care.
Our Cannery Store doors are closed for the night, the lights are dim, and the kettles are quiet. But our gratitude is loud. For you. For this community. For another year of being able to do this spicy, sweet and wonderful work.
Wherever you are tonight, however you are celebrating, however much is done or undone, we hope you feel proud of yourself.
