Standing proudly with the queer community has always been important to us at Butterfly Bakery of Vermont and Fat Toad Farm, but it's even more important now, at a time when the community is under attack. I grew up in Berkeley, CA during a time when not only did society expect you to hide if you were queer and attack you if you didn't, but AIDS was killing people and destroying found families. Child-me could never have imagined how much has changed for the queer community in the last 40 years. But the soul-crushing actions of the current administration serve to remind us that the changes of the last 40 years were gained via hard work and determined action, not standing idly by and hoping for better days.
